Built with a focus on high torque density and long service life, the SBX series is engineered to meet the rigorous demands of modern automation, robotics, CNC machining, and heavy material handling applications.

The core operating principle follows the classic planetary gear train architecture: a central sun gear is driven by the servo motor, multiple planet gears rotate around the sun gear within a fixed internal ring gear, and the planet carrier transmits the reduced speed and multiplied torque to the output shaft. The SBX series employs helical planetary gearing for smoother operation, higher torque capacity, and reduced noise compared to spur gears. The in‑line (coaxial) design ensures that the input and output shafts are aligned on the same axis, delivering straightforward mechanical integration, minimal space requirements, and reduced overhung load effects. Reduction ratios typically range from 3:1 to 100:1 in single, two‑stage, or three‑stage configurations, providing flexible speed reduction options for diverse applications.

The series is designed to accommodate input speeds up to 6,000 rpm, making it suitable for high‑speed servo motors commonly found in modern automation systems. The robust housing design enables high radial and axial load capacities, supporting heavy output shafts and direct mounting of pinions, pulleys, or coupling elements.

Structural and material features of the SBX series include: high‑rigidity one‑piece or split housing constructed from high‑strength cast iron or ductile iron for superior damping and structural integrity; precision‑ground helical gears manufactured from case‑carburized alloy steel (such as 20CrMnTi or 42CrMo), hardened to HRC 58‑62 and finished with profile grinding to DIN 4‑5 quality, ensuring smooth and quiet operation even under heavy loads; high‑capacity bearings (tapered roller or angular contact) selected to handle combined radial and axial loads; double‑sealed or lip‑seal configurations to prevent lubricant leakage and protect against dust, coolant, and other contaminants; and factory‑filled synthetic oil or grease lubrication designed for maintenance‑free operation over the product’s service life.
